The Quilt Store Canada - Evelyn's Sewing Centre

I had been a loyal customer of Evelyn's Sewing Centre for 5 years.  I was impressed by the beautiful fabrics, great staff, and inspiring classes.  It was a great place for inspiration and conversation, and the coffee was always on...I was hooked!  Very quickly, it became my favourite quilt shop!  That was when the dream of owning my own quilt shop began.

I knew I had a choice to make.  Do I buy the store I love, or do I make a store I love?  I decided to do both (who doesn't want it all?).  Evelyn's Sewing Centre had a great reputation and a long history of loyal customers – 25 years to be exact.  It was the perfect foundation for building my own dream quilt shop.  So, one morning I approached the owner and simply asked if she would like to sell her store.  The rest is history (as the saying goes).

I've made a few changes since becoming the new owner (including breaking down some walls), but the main goal of Evelyn's Sewing Centre has remained the same for over 25 years.  Our focus is to meet our customers' every need, and that will never change.  We strive to accomplish this through providing expert service and support, and by offering excellent products; machines, fabrics, notions, and patterns, as well as numerous classes to suit all tastes.

Each year we offer in excess of 200 Clubs and Classes, ranging from "Learn to Sew for Adults" to "Software Mastering Clubs".  Our classes appeal to all skill levels and interests, from the beginner sewer to the advanced quilter or embroiderer.  Our teachers' vast knowledge makes each and every class exciting and informative.

Included in our class schedule, is a large children's division.  We feel that it is so important to provide youngsters the opportunity to experience and learn not only a valuable skill, but to experience the whole creative process because they are our future sewers.

Our staff is our greatest asset.  Individual members offer expertise in all areas of sewing, quilting, garment making, embroidery, and embellishment.  Customers will surely find the answers to all of their questions here!  Our knowledgeable staff is always creating inspiring samples, using both the latest and the beloved classic patterns (even creating some originals!).  This enables us to showcase both contemporary and traditional lines of fabric.  We are always eager to share our unique patterns and ideas with the inspired customer!

Our customers are individuals with a passion for fabric and creativity.  Whether they are just starting out in the "sewing/quilting experience" and require some hand-holding to develop their skills, or are seasoned quilters and embroiderers that know what projects they want to accomplish, they know that Evelyn's Sewing Centre will have all of the necessary items, and inspiration they need to complete it.
