Traditionally, crewelwork embroidery is a type of free embroidery hand-stitched with wool thread onto a tightly woven linen twill surface. For this collection, we embraced the artistry of traditional crewelwork by creating designs to match this iconic embroidery style. By incorporating linens and unique stitches that depict this style of embroidery, we were able to reintroduce crewelwork to the modern embroiderer.
There are 20 intricately detailed, rectangular quilt blocks included in this collection, along with 3 sashing blocks. Each design in Crewelwork Canvas illustrates a beautiful nature scene in the hills. Every block comes in 5 sizes (AA-D) making this a “Mix & Match” collection and compatible with other Anita Goodesign “Mix & Match” collections.
